Rockdale teachers are the real deal—we make sure of it! We select our teachers here carefully (think CIA application process but harder), making sure that our team meets three key criteria:
What time is it? It’s teacher feature time! Meet Packie, who’s ready to share his skills in drums, guitar, bass, piano, songwriting, and recording. As if that doesn’t keep him busy enough, he’s also known as “Attic Posture” and has an album out that he wrote, arranged, performed, and produced himself!
We talked with him about how he got his start in music, his teaching philosophy, and what he’s listening to lately.
What was your motivation for becoming a teacher?
To share my love of music with others and inspire them to advance their talent and develop the passion needed to inspire even more people to love music
How long have you been performing?
Since I was about 10 years old! I got started through my school orchestra and jazz band.
What advice would you give to a new music student?
That there is no right or wrong way to approach music. All you have to do is start and you will find your way.
What’s your favorite thing about teaching at Rockdale?
My favorite thing about teaching at Rockdale is the community mindset. I love how everyone comes together to perform and showcase their own personal growth as artists/musicians.
What is your most memorable teaching moment/experience?
When I got to see my first student perform in their local concert!

What’s a fun fact we might be surprised to learn about you?
I used to play soccer for the Philadelphia Union youth team!
Any recent projects you’d like to share?
I have a record out called “Felt Like Forever” under my artist name “Attic Posture” that I wrote, arranged, performed, and produced! I also perform in bands Rally Point, Zoe Lemon, NIQU, and more!
