Taking a moment today to shout out a Rockdale alum. Amir is one of our greatest success stories at Rockdale. When he first came to the studio he had recently lost a loved one, and moved from Philly to Delco to live with his aunt and uncle. Music became his therapy to work through major life changes and he quickly became a captivating performer and singer. We are beyond proud to see how far he has come over the years and can’t wait to see what hairstyle he will cook up next. Here’s what Amir had to say about his experience at Rockdale:
“Rockdale has been like a second home to me, without the support and skills, I don’t think I’d be where I am. Not only are you given the means to hone your musical prowess, but the confidence to go out and take on the world. I’m currently working on my musical performance and business degree at Albright College.
Rockdale allowed me to play with so many talented musicians, I had the honor of being the lead singer of Count Cellars, a band formed with some of my closest friends I met while working at Rockdale’s Summer Camps. The Count Cellars and the many opportunities I was given to perform helped me find my bravado and become a more outgoing person. When I first walked through the studio door six years ago, I had no idea it would affect me so much as a person.”
